Summer Challenges

It is that time again, we have all worked so hard this year and now it is the summer holidays! We have two challenges for you to complete over the holidays, which we will celebrate on Friday 2nd September.

Your first challenge is the 30 summer reads. You will receive a Reading Robot badge in the autumn term, and you can also use it to help you complete it. At libraries this summer, the theme is Gadgeteers and all about science and innovation! Be inspired by 67 recommended reads for 4–11-year-olds or delve into your library and discover your own 6 books to read and complete the challenge.

The second challenge is our Mission Quite Possible. You are going to be sent a bingo card home of things you can do over the summer. These can be recorded in anyway you like and we’d love you to do as many as possible. There will be a point system and on Friday 2nd September we will share these results and see which class can collect the most points! There are also additional tasks on our101.org.

You can write them down, take photographs, keep a diary, create a booklet or a presentation – record it anyway you like!

Freeze frames

In our guided reading sessions today we read about one of our characters, Crom, and how battling with the Gorm had lost him his sight. We summarised the tale he told into 5 main events:

We used these events to create freeze frames of the dramatic happenings! Can you work out who is who and what is happening?
