Decimals. Getting to the point!

Today in Year 4 we continued our wonderful maths work on decimal numbers! Getting creative, we decided to break out the number counters and make our own decimal numbers using ones, tenths and hundredths.

Using the counters we made our own place value tables and built our decimals from this. Once we had mastered the idea of Ines and tenths we moved onto the hundredths column and how the decimal number chance when adding this on.

After making our numbers we recorded our decimals in our books. The children showed some fantastic link making today in Maths discovering how decimals, fractions and even percentages are connected.

Well done Year 4 keep making those amazing links. Miss Wood and Mr Tompkinson are all very proud of our maths work at the moment.

Keep being amazing, keep being you
