Similes, Metaphors and On-Point Poetry

Today Year 4 continued their amazing work on poetry looking at simile and metaphors!

Both classes worked tremendously hard to show a solid understanding of these poetic tools. We began the lesson by having a discussion about how we can describe a dragon! There was some fantastic and vivid adjectives used as a base for our simile and metaphor structure.

The children recorded some incredible ideas on their whiteboard. Then we took to our books, and working in partners we constructed some fabulous simile sentences that were of high poetic quality!

We then moved onto constructing various metaphors based on WAGOLLs.

It was a good day for poetry!

Well done Year 4 keep being amazing, Keep being you!
