Today in mathematics, Year 4 were working very hard indeed. We warmed up with some times tables and decimal counting. The speed and pace in which the children are recalling their times tables is very impressive. We have a big challenge in Year 4 as we have to know all our times tables by the end of the year, so it’s all hands on deck!
Then, after our warm up, we moved onto fractions and decimals. We started by looking at the place value of tenths and hundredths and how they can be converted from a fraction into a decimal. We designed our own tables to build our decimal numbers and then turn them into a fraction. The children worked really hard and made really good progress in their learning.
